Importers stressed to levy extra taxes

A meeting between the delegations of Korean Importers Association headed by its Director Herbert Lee with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Board of Investment & Trade (KPBOIT) Vice-Chairman Faisal Saleem Rahman has asked to reduce import duty on modern techniques and their tools .

Both the parties in the meeting on Monday discussed matters of mutual interest, including investment in hydropower generation and other investment opportunities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with an aim to attract investment and revive the industrial sector, which has been badly affected due to energy crisis and poor law and order during the last seven years.

The meeting was also attended by the director of power and energy (KPBOIT) Dr Asif Qayyum Qureshi and KP BOIT Energy Sector Chairman Zeeshan Khanzada.

Herbet Lee took keen interest in the agenda of the meeting and vowed to work together with KPBOIT and Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Peshawar to bring investment to the province and further strengthen cordial relations between the two countries.

The Delegation agreed on a single point agenda that both governments will be asked to reduce taxes on Imports and Exports of electronic tools in order to further enhance the trade volume between both countries.

The Vice-Chairman Faisal Saleem Rehman said during the course of meeting that the office and staff of KPBOIT would be available to the investors for hassle free and fast track facilitation. We have the Moto to serve investors to the best of our ability knowledge and experience.

The primary goal of the Provincial Government is to promote an efficient progressive and corruption free environment for the importers. Government has provided further impetus to KPBOIT organization and together we will serve for the economic uplift of the KP Province.

For long the Province has been regarded as a route to commerce, we aspire to convert it into a hub of investment and business. We are home to a friendly, hardworking and hospitable workforce. I strongly feel that with these qualities coupled with right direction we will achieve glory.
